If You Don't Vote, I'm Judging You

It's not about loving America, it's about taking some responsibility over where you live.

To me, regardless of if you have the legal right to vote or not, to not be engaged in politics is to show just how much you don't care about yourself or other people.

If you can vote???? (Because y'all know millions of Black people lost their right to vote through super shady/violent practices.) you need to be in that polling booth every. single. time.

The American public sucks just as much as the government because we choose to be uninformed and detached. I know it's not really someone else's responsibility to tell you to use your voice; you should want to do that on your own as an ADULT. Anyway, voting addresses these things that affect you every day:

- taxes (percentage of money you can't keep)

- healthcare (you know you can't afford your medical bills without it)

- infrastructure (potholes tearing up your car)

- environment (dead bees = dead humans)

- education (school to prison pipeline)

- stock market (build wealth instead of borrowing money)

Adulthood isn't all about having a career, paying bills, buying liquor, getting married, or having kids. It's about getting out there and improving the quality of life for yourself, your family, and your community long after you're gone. Sign a petition for a good cause. Join a protest. Shop at places that align with your morals. These are all political acts that make a difference, you just have to take that first step.
